Operations Manager

Location(s): Lowell


Brief Overview:

 

Oversees Facility operations by minimizing costs and maximizing profits, while working within established guidelines.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides direction for the Facility meeting or exceeding planned goals in people, safety, quality, cost and delivery. Insure Employees are instilled with Company goals.
  • Directs all aspects of Operations with special focus on labor cost vs.yield management. Inventory controls must be monitored and in place. Compliance with FSIS / USDA regulations, etc.
  • Knowledge of Logistics and improvement methods.
  • Insure proper maintenance of the facility and equipment.
  • Develop employee knowledge by reviewing state of the business.
  • Communication must be interactive between the Employee and Management.
  • Must be a role model by setting an example of Company values and the culture. Coach Employees with the same principles.
  • Actively participate and promote Succession Planning with all positions.
  • Insure all Employees receive Evaluations with stretch objectives and timely accurate reviews.
  • Insure Zero Mountain, Inc. follows legal requirements concerning Employee policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or a related business field or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of four years Management experience in manufacturing, operations, distribution and/or logistics or combination with education required. Warehouse operations and forklift experience preferred.
  • Individual must be equipped to handle high paced / volume productivity.
  • P&L and budgeting experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have or gain a strong knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Prior experience in direct sales, especially as related to developing new customers and analyzing current market trends is highly desired.
  • Proven ability to analyze and process problems while providing an effective solution. Goal driven and results oriented; be able to work effectively and efficiently with others; and have the ability to motivate and enable others to achieve excellence.
  • Effective communications with internal and external contacts.
  • A working knowledge of computer programs (Micro-soft Office, etc.).
  • Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day.
  • Production work environment temperatures range from approximately 35 degrees to below 0 degrees (Fahrenheit). Proper cold weather clothing required.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs., reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist. Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Travel by planes, trains, and automobiles.

Individual must be a very good leader, which possesses strong character and integrity. Must communicate effectively with internal and external contacts and have a solid vision / strategy to meet Company goals.
